Capture to Capture Success!

Today I’d like to share some very important information with you about something that you should absolutely be doing in your home business IF you want to achieve long term results and success.

You need to be building your own list (See Auto-Responder Article Post) using your own personalized Lead Capture Pages.  Lead Capture Pages are also referred to as “Squeeze Pages” and “Landing Pages“.

I can track my path to success in my home based business back to my decision to learn how to build and start using my own personalized Lead capture pages.  Almost immediately upon starting to build and use my own capture pages is when I began to have incredible and lasting results in my business, looking back, even though I started my home based business 2 years before, it wasn’t until the day I began to Build my own LIST with my own personalized capture pages tied to my own Auto-Responder that was I was really in business.  I look at that day… the day that I started using capture pages with an auto-responder as really my first day in business, because before that I had no real control over what I was doing and I was not building along term asset which is a list of prospects.

Let me just stress that starting to use your own Auto-Responder is the first important step you must take in order to start building your list and the second crucial step is having this auto-responder connected to your own personal Lead Capture pages.

Just What Exactly Is ARE Lead Capture Pages And How Can They Help You?

A lead capture page is any website that allows your visitor to enter their contact information requesting more information about your product or opportunity. If you’re like any other average Network Marketer out there trying to recruit online, you’re probably  using some company replicated website.  If that’s the case, you’ve probably figured out by now that those do not work.

When a potential customer or business partner has to rifle through your entire affiliate website to get some information about your product or opportunity and you do not have a way to capture their information, you are wasting your time and marketing dollars.

These replicated websites that most MLM and Network Marketing companies hand out for free to their distributors simply do not convert visitors into signups or leads very well…

And Why Don’t These Replicated Sites Convert?

It’s simple, these replicated websites that most of these companies are giving to their distributors are providing your visitors with way too much information and no real defined course of action. When you just pile on a ton of information to someone right off the bat, you are simply creating confusion and that confusion leads the visitor towards indecision.  If a prospect starts feeling confused, chances are they will click on outta there and will be off on someone else’s website and they will be gone for good.

You probably already know that building your network marketing business is a numbers game.  Some Will, Some Won’t, So What…. Who’s Next?  You always have to keep funneling fresh prospects into your “Sales Funnel”.  The best way to do that is by is by directing your prospects to your own personal lead capture pages and getting their contact information even if it’s only their First Name and Email Address.  This allows you to follow up with them andstart building a relationship with them.

Most distributor sites do not supply Lead Capture Pages or a way for you to follow up with website visitors. Generally speaking, they do not place a lead capture form on your replicated site so the only way you’ll ever talk with a visitor is if they contact you.  And we all know that most will not be calling you.

Now there are companies that do provide lead capture pages for their distributors but the leads that are captured from your page go into a central database and they are not completely in your control. Sometimes the companies even want to sell these leads back to you.

Having your own lead capture page tied to your own auto-responder quickly solves this problem and it does much, much more for you also.

With your own lead capture pages,  you are able to present your opportunity in a much softer, simpler way. Then by having a simple webform asking for their information, you make it very easy for your prospect to take the next step and if your page is designed right, they most likely will.

With a lead capture page, you aren’t trying to sell your prospect on your opportunity right then and there, you are simply trying to engage them in the process of getting more information so they can see if what you have might be right for them.

Your lead capture page is more like an appetizer or a teaser page enticing them to request information about the main entree. When it comes to marketing on the Internet, the simpler and more straight forward your website is, the more visitors you will be able to convert into leads and then into customers or business partners.

Another thing that is very important when it comes to you using your own personalized lead capture pages is that YOU SHOULD BE BRANDING YOU and not some product or opportunity.  Remember, people buy from people and if you’re just promoting some product or opportunity you’re not setting yourself apart from anyone else out on the Internet. By adding pictures and video to your Lead Capture pages,  you are helping that new prospect get to know a little about you and that is very effective when it comes to converting visitors into leads and leads into customers or business partners.

Now those are the basics when it comes Lead Capture Pages but you’re probably thinking….OK Frank, I understand that I need my own personalized lead capture pages tied to my own auto -responder but I know nothing about building a webpage or HTML coding or any of that so how am I supposed to build my own capture pages?

There are essentially 3 ways to do this.

1.  OUTSOURCE

2.  LEARN HOW TO BUILD YOUR OWN LEAD CAPTURE PAGES.

3.  USE A COMPLETELY INTEGRATED MARKETING SYSTEM

Let’s explore each of these options.

OUTSOURCING is probably your best bet for getting started and getting your own capture pages online and  that is what I did.  I used a company called EZLeadCapture owned by a young man named Carl Sorensen.  Carl’s company has a wide variety  of stock templates that you can use.  You can insert your own pictures or video and Carl will even design a custom capture page for you. EZLeadCapture has its own integrated auto-responder but I strongly encourage you to use your own Auto-Responder service with any capture page.  This service offers great value!

Another really awesome product that I found recently makes it stupidly easy to have your own very attractive and compelling Video Capture pages.  The company is called Video Squeeze Templates .  There is absolutely NO DOUBT whatsoever that Video helps convert visitors to leads and leads to customers better than any other marketing method so this is something that you may want to consider.  These Video templates are easy to build and personalize but you must host them in your own hosting account.  Again this is fairly simple and something that I recommend you learn how to do.  I use GoDaddy for some of my hosting and there are many inexpensive hosting packages out there.

If you’re willing to spend a little more upfront and on a monthly basis there are companies that will build youcompletely custom capture pages from the ground up using all kinds of your own video, pictures and graphics. This was my second step in having my own branded custom capture page and I chose to work with The Home Business People.  Owners, Doug and Jen Bonoff are 11 year industry experts have put together some really special here and their company is easily the best company to use if you are willing to spend a little more and have an attractive fully customized Lead capture page for your business.  Their experienced and friendly staff are a pleasure to work with.

You can  You can also find a multitude of options for stock templates, semi-customizable and completely customized capture pages simply by doing a search for “Lead Capture Pages“   or “Squeeze Pages” on Google or Yahoo.

2. LEARN HOW TO BUILD YOUR OWN – While this may seem daunting at first, the reality is that with today’s WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) HTML Editors and even easier “Drag and Drop” HTML editors, it becomes pretty easy for you to design and build your own pages.  These plug and play HTML editors allow you to design the most basic lead capture pages or even the most sophisticated designs.  I recommend that you start learning how to do the basic WYSIWYG HTML editing right away because with today’s editors even basic knowledge can take you a long way.

Learning how to build your own personal lead capture pages will open many doors for you and there is no limit to your creativity and the directions you can go in your marketing.  While you may want to start by outsourcing, I strongly encourage you to commit to learning how to build your own pages.  This is one of those skills where the payback will far outweigh any frustrations in the learning process.

3.  USE A COMPLETELY INTEGRATED MARKETING SYSTEM

What’s the BIG Deal About Auto-Responders?
I am writing this article and making this video mostly for the benefit of new marketers because chances are if you’ve been marketing online for any length of time, then hopefully you already know that it is CRITICAL for your success to have a follow-up system in place.  If you do not have a follow-up system in place with an Auto-Responder system, you are losing a TON of money and wasting a TON of  time also.  Each day that passes without you having an auto-responder system set-up and working for you just adds to the time it will take you to succeed online.   Think of it this way, an auto-responder system IS the foundation for all of your online business building efforts and if you don’t have one set up and working for you, you’re missing the boat.

You can learn all of the most effective ways to market online and get thousands of targeted visitors to yourwebsite, but if you do not have a system in place to follow-up with these visitors and manage the names on this prospect list that you are building, then you must stop right now and go subscribe to a Top-Rated Auto-Responder System and learn how to use it as soon as possible.  This is one of the most important things  that you can do for your business.

Also, I have to stress that having an auto-responder tied to some company replicated website is not what you want to do.  When you use a company replicated website and auto-responder, you do not really own those leads and you are not in complete control of them.  Anything can happen to those valuable leads and you do not want to risk losing your list and the time, money and effort it took to get them.  No.. You need to be using an auto-responder system that you have complete control over that is independent of any company replicated website.  After all, companies come and go but the value of your business long term is your list.

Now Here’s the Truth...Not everyone who visits your website is going to sign up or buy from you right away. There are people who will not take action immediately upon seeing a  good thing, like your business.  The fact is that most people out there will delay and procrastinate and talk themselves out of taking any action beyond requesting information about your business.  This doesn’t mean they are not good prospects, it just means that they might not be good prospects the day they saw your website.  Maybe the timing just wasn’t right, maybe they were having a bad day or maybe they are just between paychecks.

You already have something invested in these people who requested information from your website because you had to spend your time, effort and money to get them to your website in the first place and get them to give you their information.  You cannot afford to just let these people disappear into the Internet cloud forever.  If you have a system to continually follow up with them, many, many people will come back and buy from you days, weeks, months or even years later…and it might not even be the thing you first introduced them to.

This is why you need to get an auto-responder working for you right away.  I significantly increased my business enrollment conversion rate soon after I first started using an auto-responder system.  The sad fact is that If I would have been lucky enough to find a mentor that would have stressed the importance of using an auto-responder when I first joined this industry over 5 years ago, I’d probably be retired living on the beach by now.  Using an auto-responder really does give you that much additional power in your business.

Why are Auto-responders essential?

If you do not know what an auto-responder is, you must learn now! Learning how to use an Auto-Responder will give you the tool you need  to manage your leads and automatically follow up with people via email for weeks, months or even years. Statistically, a potential customer needs to see your ad an average of 7 to10 times before they are confident enough and trust you enough to make a purchase from you. An auto-responder series will follow up with your leads via email and substantially increase your conversion rate.

Now that you understand the importance of an auto-responder,  your  task becomes choosing the right one for you.

Autoresponders that you pay for with a monthly subscription:

Aweber - This is my personal choice in an Auto-Responder and I have been using it for over 3 years now and have dozens of prospects lists that I manage and stay in touch with weekly.  Aweber is considered by many to be the industry standard and is used by many top marketers.  Aweber offers an affordable monthly subscription for their auto-responder services. They have more features than are usually available with your standard autoresponder. If you intend to create your own capture pages (which you should)  and build your list, Aweber is the responder should  strongly consider . This is the responder I currently use in most of my campaigns.

iContact  – Similar to AWeber,  iContact  is another great choice. but with one significant difference that would be considered an advantage by many.  iContact allows you to import subscribers that you generated in another system i.e. a replicated website. You can import them into iContact and begin to send them mail without them having to confirm that they want to get your mail like you do in Aweber. This does not mean that you would  want to import purchased leads into iContact and blast to them because that is not what it is designed to do.  Aweber and iContact are both designed to follow-up with opt-in prospects.  However,  if you generate leads with some kind of affiliate system, you can import them into iContact and mail to them.

There are also other highly rated Web Based auto-responder systems including… Constant Contact, Get Response and then there is also more advanced auto-responder software you can buy to host on your own servers for even more control over your follow-up system .  One such software would be Auto-Response Plus.

I encourage you to research auto-responders as soon as possible and pick the one that is right for you. Both Aweber and iContact  have exceptional training systems in place so you can learn how everything works and start using them to make more money right away.

I hope that this information was helpful and that if you are not using an auto-responder system yet that I motivated you to take action now and get started on that.  It really is one of the most important first steps you can take in building the foundation of your business.
